Our philosophy with any Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers program is simple – the more, the merrier! Groups are a great means of bringing together like-minded people who are collectively behind an important cause. We welcome communities, organisations, friendship groups and family members to experience this adventure together.
The great news is that group volunteering comes in many different forms. From school groups and university colleagues to scouting and cadet communities, to peers in the NGO field or representatives from the corporate world seeking to make a difference – every hand on the ground is valued equally. At Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers, we believe that everyone has a contribution to make, however varied they are.
We encourage volunteers to travel with friends, partners and colleagues so they have someone to share the experience with. Many of our projects offer family volunteering for a variety of age groups from infants, so no one is left behind. Being able to share your stories after your volunteering is fundamental to the overall experience. The saying often goes: “Alone we can go fast, together we can go far.” In the case of O2E, that creed is showcased by our collective effort to make genuine strides.
Group volunteering in Australia
At the heart of Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers group volunteering are our Australian projects, in particular our Marine Conservation projects in Far North Queensland, Australia. Designed to enhance global conservation efforts, these unique opportunities can be customised to suit your requirements. From research and monitoring to beach clean ups and scuba dive courses, we enjoy working with people from all walks of life, and are fully equipped to cater for your group while promoting the ethical treatment and natural living ecology of all animals and their environment.
Custom built group programs
At Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers, we can package together a placement that will allow you to expand on your studies, develop a program that ties into your corporate mission statement or extend skills and experiences required for a cadetship. Or maybe your group just wants to travel and contribute to something worthwhile? O2E Groups are ideal for high school or university peer groups who are seeking to expand on their theoretical work in the fields of conservation, oceanography, marine biology, anthropology, zoology, animal care, biology or environmental sciences. Our group expedition opportunities help to compliment and build upon the lectures with tangible development on the ground, an asset that will contribute towards your grading and expand your personal portfolio.
Are there any restrictions with volunteering
O2E have group projects for those over the age of 18, as well as opportunities for the Under 18s that allow for children and teenagers to embark upon an endeavour alongside a legal guardian or teacher.
The Great Barrier Reef Marine Conservation is one such program where an adult and a trained O2E professional can oversee the snorkelling activities in the luxurious surrounds of Australia’s iconic Reef.
The Eco-Expedition for Families and Groups is offered to families with children of all ages, giving everyone the opportunity to contribute and learn about conservation.

Group volunteering is a great way for like-minded groups of people to venture outside of the confines of a standard vacation and give something back to the planet.
