Joining the Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers team during your summer holidays is a great means of expanding your horizons and earning an experience for the ages.
If you have a break from College or University, have accumulated enough paid leave for a sabbatical, or simply want to break the mold from the regular Summer holiday or Christmas-New Year’s routine, then an exotic overseas adventure could be just the tonic for you.
The benefits of volunteering with Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers during the summer opens a series of pathways, enhancing the vision of helping animals and protecting our environment, giving participants hands-on knowledge and experiences to build upon.
Given the demand of environmental issues plaguing the world, our collective mission to promote the ethical treatment and natural living ecology of all animals and the environment never waivers. By exposing and educating volunteers during the summer break, we can all work towards our objectives of global sustainability.
Why become a volunteer on your Summer holidays?
There happens to be a litany of reasons why individuals and groups respectively sign up to an Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers project. No single volunteer arrives to the O2E team with the same life experiences, profile or expectation.
Your unique perspective and outlook on issues including animal welfare, wildlife conservation and environmental conservation is considered a valuable asset as we leverage your eagerness, enthusiasm and courage to tackle these monumental but prevalent 21st Century challenges.
We continue to receive feedback from those who have experienced what Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers has provided them, and they explain that these endeavours have given them a new outlook on the world. Foreign and domestic volunteers alike arrive with a variety of overseas travelling history, from the very limited to the extensive, and everything in between.
Whatever your background, you may find yourself outside of your comfort zone, or right in it, however, upon your return, you should feel validated and humbled to know that you have spent your free time contributing to a cause greater than yourself over the summer break.
What projects are on offer for Summer volunteers?
The great news is that most Oceans 2 Earth Volunteers projects operate during the summer for you to get involved in, after all, animals always need feeding and trees do not go anywhere.
Whether it is snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef on a research and monitoring project, conducting a wild turtle count, assisting in the care of rescued native animals or measuring forest growth after a controlled burn, participants will not be short on options. To take each endeavour beyond its original scope, we require volunteers to commit their time and energy on the ground in every region, particularly during the summer months when animals are the environment are hit the hardest with larger tourist numbers.
Take a close look at our projects to identify which program would cater to your personal interests this coming summer vacation. Animal Care & Rehabilitation, Conservation & Cultural Education, Habitat Conservation, Marine Conservation, Research & Monitoring, Study Placements and Veterinary are all options for the discerning traveller. Just remember, Summer is our busiest time so apply early to book your spot!
See you in the Summer!
